Hugo Broos opens up on Mofokeng’s future in Soweto

Relebohile Mofokeng has put Orlando Pirates on his back time and time again, contributing twenty-three goals and assists this season.

The 20-year-old, beaming with potential, has the world at his feet, piquing the interest of many giants of the game, including Zamalek FC, Al Ahly, Barcelona FC, and Glasgow Rangers.

The Buccaneers will do all they can to keep the Bafana star, but history tells us that the allure of European soccer is often too tempting. Just ask Siyabonga Ngezana and Percy Tau.

What did Broos say?

Orlando Pirates fans won’t like Hugo Broos’ prediction after the Bafana boss told iDiski Times, “I see all the things around, Barcelona and Rangers and… I’m a little bit afraid. I just hope that the people around make the choice of the best sportive solution and not the best financial solution,

“Okay, I think his parents want the best for him, that’s for sure. But there is another guy who wants to win a lot of money also, but that’s the problem. But ok, let’s hope, maybe I talked too soon about that,

“We’ll see. I think in June, Rele will not be a player of Orlando Pirates anymore, but a good choice is very important.”

Meanwhile, the Sea Robbers have secured the future of youngster Yanga Madiba.

“They have already made that decision. For now, it’s as good as done, and it’s believed to be a three-year contract which would apparently run from July this year until June 2028,” a Soccer Laduma report read.

What’s your guess? Will Mofokeng leave Orlando Pirates this offseason?
