SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has explained how his side defeated Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday evening at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

New man Tashreeq Morris scored the only goal in the 44th minute to hand Amakhosi their second loss of the season. The two teams played last weekend at the same stadium in the Carling Knockout Cup with Chiefs giving Matsatsantsa a 4-0 hiding.

Speaking after the match, Gavin Hunt said the key was not allowing Kaizer Chiefs to turn them over on Saturday like they did last weekend;

“Last week we took the game to them, didn’t we? the SuperSport coach said after the match.

“That first 30 minutes we took the game; we had a go, and we got turned over and I said we can’t be turned over. Because they’ve got really, really good players Chiefs. In the front three four, so we did that well tonight.”

Hunt made a few changes to the team that played Amakhosi last Saturday. Experienced defender Thulani Hlatshwayo return to the starting eleven adding stability to the back.

“I thought that was the key [turning over possession] to the whole game.

Kaizer Chiefs suffer another defeat against Hunt

“They let the game come to us a little bit. We took the game to them on Saturday and we got hurt,” Hune said as per iDiski Times.

“It’s a cup game, so let the game come to us a little bit, and I thought we were better. We don’t have the quality, but they’ve got, and you know you have to do what you have to do,” Hunt said.
