Hlophe, Mpofu to head MK Party’s disciplinary committees

UMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has appointed advocate Dali Mpofu and impeached judge John Hlophe to head its disciplinary committees.

The party held a briefing about key appointments and leadership structures aimed at strengthening the party on Thursday, 23 January.

DALI MPOFU AND JOHN HLOPHE SECURE NEW POSITIONS WITHIN MK PARTY

Mpofu has been appointed the chairperson of the national disciplinary committee while Hlophe will be the chairperson of the national disciplinary committee of appeals.

The party said its code of conduct guides it to publicly inform its members when changes in the national disciplinary committee are made, adding that both Mpofu and Hlophe are amongst the best legal minds in the country.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE KEY APPOINTMENTS?

The Jacob Zuma-led party has added eight new members to its national high command which is the party’s highest decision-making body.

The following members were appointed with immediate effect:

  • Serame Nameeh Mogale
  • Luther Lebelo
  • Jabu Khoza
  • Madume Patrice Choku
  • Lindiwe Ntshali
  • Puseletso Skhosana
  • Dumisile Nxumalo
  • Sibusiso Radebe

MK Party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela said the addition of these eight members will bolster the work of the organisation and ready it for the tasks and work ahead.

ZUMA-LED PARTY TO LAUNCH WOMEN AND YOUTH LEAGUES

In addition, national officials have named the convenors and coordinators of the MK Party youth and women’s leagues.

“The national officials resolved to appoint Nothando Malanga who is also a member of the national high command as national convenor. Shozi carries the necessary composure, discipline and dedication to guide the full formation of uMkhonto weSizwe’s women’s league.

“The national officials also resolved to appoint Lindiwe Makubu (Mtshali) as the national coordinator of the MK Party women’s league,” Ndhlela said.

Qiniso Cibane who is the current convenor of the party’s youth league in eThekwini region as national convenor while the current spokesperson Nkateko Mkhabela has been appointed national coordinator.

The women’s league will be launched on 9 August while MK Party youth league will be officially launched on 16 June.
