Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has defended his captain Inacio Miguel.

The 28-year-old Angolan international arrived at Amakhosi from Petro Atletico, having won a treble in his home country. He alongside Rushwin Dortely have formed a good partnership at the back this season but lack of discipline has been a worrying factor for Miguel.

In the six matches he played, the Kaizer Chiefs captain has received four yellow cards and a red card.

Nabi still has faith in Kaizer Chiefs captain Miguel Inacio

“Miguel has no problem with discipline. He’s a good guy, he’s a really [good] captain,” Nabi told the media.

“But you know, he’s a new in South African football. He needs small time for adaptation, not only for the football, but for all the atmosphere.

“If he’s received more [cards], I agree with you, he’s received more, but I think he wants to give a maximum for Kaizer Chiefs,” Nabi on his captain.

“Sometimes he’s too much. But honestly, he’s a very good guy, his personality, I love this guy.

“But he’s promised me more; I don’t want more discipline, because he is an example of discipline, inside and outside, but to be more careful, yes,” he said as per GOAL.

Upon his arrival at Kaizer Chiefs, Nabi appointed Yusuf Maart as captain. After several matches, the Tunisian tactician decided to switch the captain, appointing Miguel as the club’s new skipper. Amakhosi are in action on Wednesday evening against Richards Bay in a Betway Premiership clash.
