The switch from SASSA Gold Cards to Postbank Black Cards is in full swing in most provinces in the country.

But what should SASSA grant beneficiaries do if the unfortunate happens and they lose their Black Card? Find out the steps to take in order for recipients to continue receiving their grant without the new card.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU LOSE YOUR BLACK CARD?

According to Postbank, SASSA grant beneficiaries can be able to get another Postbank Black Card. However, this will not happen immediately.

In the instance where a black card has been lost, these individuals will have to wait until all grant recipients have received their Black Cards. It’s only after everyone has collected the new card that those who lost theirs can get another one.

HOW WILL BENEFICIARIES RECEIVE GRANTS WITHOUT THE BLACK CARD?

While those who lost Postbank Black Cards wait for other beneficiaries to complete collecting theirs, they can still continue receiving payments. This can be done by them collecting their SASSA grants at a Post Office near them.

WHAT TO DO WHEN COLLECTING YOUR CARD FOR THE FIRST TIME?

Beneficiaries who are collecting the Postbank Black Card for the first time can visit selected Boxer, Pick n Pay, Shoprite and Checkers retail stores in these provinces. All that recipients need to take with them when collecting the card is their ID.

Those collecting on behalf of someone will require to have their ID and an official SASSA letter with them. Asylum Seekers will have to also take an official SASSA approval letter with them for card collection.
