Handre hails from Somerset West in the Western Cape while Marise was raised on a farm in Bloemendal. In 2022, the pair moved to the UK after Handre signed a R14 million a year contract with Leicester Tigers. This was the longest I’ve been at home since I was 18 years old. The fact that we got to share Hunter, with our friends, our families, and everyone we love is the greatest privilege, and my heart physically could not be fuller. Dankie, dankie, dankie,” she wrote.

Marise went on to say that she is happy to return to their home and see their dogs. She added that she was grateful to call another country and town home.

“As heavy as it is to say goodbye. It is so nice for me to be back in our town, at our home with our dogs 🤍. I am just so grateful for the privilege of being able to call another country and town home,” she continued.
