Orlando Pirates return to CAF Champions League action this evening when they host Stade D’Abidjan at the Orlando Stadium.

Jose Riveiro’s side head into today’s clash knowing three points is a must should they wish to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.

The Buccaneers currently sit in third position in group C, however a victory will see them shoot to the top of a the group with two games to go.

Kick-off is scheduled for 18:00 at the Orlando Stadium, but more importantly there’s some good news for Bucs fans in South Africa!

Orlando Pirates vs Stade D’Abidjan to be televised

Many of Orlando Pirates fans don’t get to watch their club on television often, however tonight will be different.

The club’s crucial CAF Champions League clash against Stade D’Abidjan will be televised on SABC2.

The encounter will also be televised on SuperSport 209.

In other related news, Orlando Pirates are pushing hard to sign arguably one of the best players in the country at the moment.

The Buccaneers are looking to compete for both the CAF Champions League and Betway Premiership in the second half of the season and will need some serious depth.

Jose Riveiro’s side have strongly been linked with Polokwane City star Oswin Appollis, and the club are reportedly preparing a scintillating offer for him.

This offer will include both cash and one of the club’s fan-favourites!

“You remember about the loose ends still to be tied and discussed? One of those is that Polokwane City want to have a player and money from Pirates,” an insider told Soccer Laduma.

“The initial player that they wanted was Katlego Otladisa and since that didn’t work out then they are believed to have asked for Phillip Ndlondlo as the player who could be involved in this deal. So, as we speak now that’s what both teams are looking at and things could be done sooner than expected.”

In other news, Orlando Pirates star Mofokeng is also reportedly attracting serious interest from Spanish giants Barcelona FC!
