Get your passport renewed at these banks
If you’re booking an overseas trip soon and need to renew your passport, apply for a passport for the first time, or get a smart ID card, there are now even more banks in South Africa that will offer the renewal of passports and IDs.
There are currently 30 bank branches in South Africa which offer these services, and this number is set to more than double in the near future, with a further 34 bank branches being added to the list.
Here are the participating bank branches you can visit if you want to skip the queues at the Department of Home Affairs:

How it works
It’s quite simple to renew your passport or ID document at a bank branch in South Africa, and takes 15 days from application to collection.
Users are asked to create an application, where they are required to fill in the following information:
- Country
- Residential and postal address
- Location to have biometrics captured
- Where to collect documents
