GOGO SKHOTHENI SET TO OPEN A NIGHTCLUB
Against the reports, the publication has since established that her new joint, Club Cavo, will have its grand opening on 25 January.
However, the joint in Maboneng Precinct, downtown Johannesburg, has already opened its doors to patrons.
According to its official Instagram page, the club had a show on New Year’s Eve, and Gogo Skhotheni, a DJ, headlined the show.
Confirmed reports have it that Gogo Skhotheni is in partnership with two business associates.
She said about her new venture, “Maboneng has a certain vibe that people love, and it was just the most appealing place for me to socialise with my fans.”
News of the club’s grand opening comes barely a few days after she took to Instagram to announce the news on Instagram.
Being a DJ, Gogo Skhotheni said an entertainment business made sense. “I love music; being a DJ, it only made sense for me to get into the clubbing scene.”
OTHER CELEBRITIES RAKING IN THE DOUGH FROM NIGHTLIFE VENTURES
With her recent business venture, she joins a host of celebrities who own nightclubs or joints in South Africa, including Kabza De Small, DJ Shimza and former Bafana Bafana star Dino Ndlovu.
KABZA DE SMALL
In September 2024, Kabza De Small opened his joint Piano Hub in Soweto with an exclusive show dubbed Kabza De Small and Friends.
The award-winning singer and producer had a string of DJs on rotation for Piano Hub’s official opening, including Oscar Mbo and DJ Maphorisa.
DINO NDLOVU
Gogo Skhotheni also joins former Bafana Bafana star Dino Ndlovu, who reportedly makes a fortune from the nightlife thanks to his clubs.
Despite earning a lot from his big moves, bonuses, and salaries during his illustrious career, which spanned years, Dino Ndlovu invested heavily in several business ventures, including the entertainment industry.
According to reports, he reportedly owns two popular joints, one in his hometown and the other in Nelspruit.
In 2021, media reports said Dino Ndlovu bought Goodfellas Night Club. He confirmed the purchase barely a few months after opening Legacy Lifestyle Lounge in Nelspruit.
MAKING HEADLINES
Despite her big wins, Gogo Skhotheni has had her fair share of drama. She most recently had another fallout with Sangoma Gogo Maweni; they have been at each other’s necks for years.
Against their fallout, she said, “I am focusing on myself, and no amount of hate can bring me down.” Of late, the two have been exchanging blows on social media.
