Gayton McKenzie has claimed that Joslin Smith is still alive, and he is willing to go to jail to prove it. The Minister of Sport, Art, and Culture has been name-dropped in the trafficking trial of the missing Saldanha Bay girl.

Joslin’s mother, Kelly Smith, her boyfriend, Jacquin “Boeta,” and her friend Steveno Van Rhyn have pleaded not guilty to child kidnapping and trafficking charges. The then-six-year-old went missing from her home in Diazville on 19 February 2024.

GAYTON MCKENZIE SAYS JOSLIN SMITH IS ‘ALIVE’

In a Facebook Live, Minister Gayton McKenzie shared his frustrations about not being called as a witness in the Joslin Smith case.

The Patriotic Alliance has been transparent in his search for the missing girl, leading a search party and even befriending Joslin’s mother. However, authorities have accused him of “interfering” in the investigation and possibly sabotaging the outcome.

Gayton said: “No one in South Africa was more close in this case than us….People are pushing their own agenda. So the truth must come out.”

During the Facebook Live, Gayton alleged that there was a kidnapping syndicate being “protected” by high-profile people. He also condemned Joslin’s mother for her actions and substance addiction.

Gayton claims that Kelly Smith told him multiple versions of events that she believed happened to Joslin. He also claimed that “somebody was trying to get me off this case.”

During the Live, Gayton also made a number of bombshell allegations:

  • Joslin was “sold” to someone linked to state witness Laurentia Lombaard Joslin is alive.
  • Allegations of “witchcraft” used by authorities
  • Claims that the person Joslin was sold to was a drug dealer who connections to another political party.

However, the outspoken leader insisted that the little girl was not dead, as believed to be.

“Joslin is alive! I will spend a year or even two years in prison for Joslin. I’m not afraid. Joslin’s life comes before mine. We’re going to get Joslin”.

SUING TIKTOKER OVER KIDNAPPING CLAIMS

Last year, Gayton McKenzie threatened legal action against a TikTok user who alleged that the minister was hiding” missing Joslin Smith” in one of his Cape Town homes.

Social media influencer Maryke Erasmus posted multiple clips with unfounded rumours relating to the political leader.

The Laingsburg woman claimed that Gayton was allegedly harbouring Joslin in one of his houses in the community of Kraaifontein.

Maryke claims that she had approached police to search the house, which she claims allegedly belonged to the minister.

She added: “This was what God revealed to me. She is there in that house. I believe it.”

In another clip, Maryke accused Gayton McKenzie of being a member of the secret service Illuminati, who ordered him to “kidnap” the Saldanha Bay girl.
