SIBONISO ‘PA’ GAXA EARNS LAW DEGREE

The star, who needs no introduction in the South African football scene, wowed many with his flair and command of the game.

The KwaMashu-born star was named ‘Pa’ because he had an old soul and was unusually mature as a child. Siboniso Gaxa is making headlines after graduating from Wits University.

The former Kaizer Chiefs star, boasting a Political Science Degree and a Sports Management course at Boston Media College, now holds an LLB Degree.

Siboniso ‘Pa’ Gaxa took to social media to share videos from his graduation ceremony. He joins a host of former Premier Soccer League players with LLB Degrees.

Earlier this year, Kaizer Chiefs legend Ntsie Maphike obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of South Africa (UNISA).

Surprisingly, the right back juggled his law studies with his gig as an Operations Manager and Legal at Brand Arc.

The media agency is lauded as one of the best in Africa. It majors in marketing, events, branding, and managing athletes, actors, and coaches.

The company manages some of the stars, including actresses Connie Ferguson and Thembi Seete, radio power couple Mapaseka and Thabo Mokwele, Mafikizolo’s Nhlanhla Mafu (formerly Nciza), businesswoman Basetsana Kumalo, and news anchor Leanne Manas.

CAREER

Siboniso Gaxa started his professional football career with Pretoria-based side SuperSport United in 2002, where he stayed for six seasons.

Although he left Matsantsantsa, he remained in the city as he joined arch-rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in 2008.

In 2010, Siboniso Gaxa moved to Belgian club Lierse SK. The team released him after the 2011/2012 season.

In May 2012, he signed a three-year contract with Kaizer Chiefs, with the option to renew for one year.

Amakhosi released him at the end of the 2015/2016 season, and his last two clubs were Bidvest Wits and Ajax Cape Town in 2016 and 2018, respectively – both Wits and Ajax no longer exist.

Siboniso Gaxa won four Premier Soccer League (PSL) titles, including two with Amakhosi and one-a-piece with Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United.
