Fikile Mbalula recently praised Gayton McKenzie for his impressive work since becoming the Minister of the Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture. Since his appointment a few months ago, McKenzie has made headlines with his visible achievements and dedication to his role.

Taking to Twitter, Mbalula, who is the ANC Secretary General and a former Minister of Transport, Sports, and Recreation, expressed his admiration for McKenzie’s commitment and passion.

He even drew a comparison between McKenzie’s approach and his tenure as “Minister Razz.”

“The Minister of Sports, Arts, and Culture is doing a marvelous job. He is dedicated and reminds me of my days as Minister Razz. @GaytonMcK, the man is passionate,” Mbalula wrote.

However, Mbalula’s tweet didn’t sit well with many Twitter users, who were quick to criticize him for comparing himself to McKenzie.

Here are some of the responses:

“The only thing we remember about your tenure is calling Bafana Bafana a bunch of losers!”

“Please do not insert yourself here! You are incompetent at best. You continue to be ridiculed for being a clown.”

“Nothing can ever be said about you in all your portfolios as the Minister other than being nothandakubukwa . Nothing works wherever you are deployed to. You are a total disaster. You are a useful tool for the DA & its engineered The GNU.”
