Former Orlando Pirates assistant coach Fadlu Davids has mentioned one aspect that Relebohile Mofokeng needs to improve on.

The 20-year-old has been inspirational for the Buccaneers, scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists across all competitions this season. Mofokeng has been linked with a move to Europe next season, but Davids feels the youngster still needs to develop physically.

“The youngster Rele Mofokeng of Pirates is something definitely special, he’s the one player who has a huge future ahead of him if he is guided correctly,” Davids said on Mike Morton Talks Football.

“Physically, he still has to develop, get himself ready for European leagues. You saw in the Kaizer Chiefs game he was calling for a penalty, they just pushed him off the ball.

“These are small things but with his technical skills and football brain he has all the attributes to make it and be the next big thing to lead Bafana and give us the hope for our goal-scoring exploits. He’s definitely one player that stands out,” Davids enthused.

Mofokeng has played three seasons at Orlando Pirates and many believe the Bafana Bafana star should be given a chance to play overseas. The Buccaneers still have a handul of matches to play this season but will end the campaign second behind Mamelodi Sundowns.

Should Mofokeng leave this season?
