European giants circle as Stanley Nwabali gains more interest.

The transfer buzz around Chippa United’s Nigeria international goalkeeper is growing as a new wave of suitors emerges. Already on the radar of South African heavyweights Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, Nwabali is now drawing serious attention from a French club.

According to insiders close to the player, the unnamed French club has made inquiries about Nwabali, who recently played a key role for the Super Eagles during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

“What we know now is that it’s a club from France. The first interest was from Belgium but this one is from France. Each and every day there is interest in Stanley. At one point, Chippa United will have to let him go. So let’s wait and see at the end of the season. But it’s believed the interest is high from this French club,” a source revealed.

French Scouts tracking Nwabali in World Cup qualifiers

Scouts from the French club have been closely monitoring Nwabali, particularly during Nigeria’s recent World Cup qualifiers, where the Super Eagles secured four points from two matches.

“They have been monitoring him even during the recent games in the World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe. Because of the interest and inquiry about Nwabali, Chippa is already looking at signing another goalkeeper for next season. Whether he leaves or not, the club is preparing for a replacement when he finally goes,” the source added.

Chippa prepares for life after Nigerian

As the 28-year-old AFCON standout and Chippa United captain continues to impress, speculation about his future intensifies. Nwabali has been instrumental for the Chilli Boys, delivering solid performances throughout the season.

Despite mounting interest from local and European clubs, Chippa United’s executive director, Lukhanyo Mzizi, insists the club has yet to receive any formal offers.

“As a club, we haven’t received any formal request or bid for Stanley. He is very focused on the team finishing well at the end of the season, the AFCON, and World Cup qualifiers (for the Super Eagles),” Mzizi told Soccer Laduma.

Transfer race intensifies as season nears conclusion

With the season nearing its climax, the battle for Nwabali’s signature is expected to escalate. Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, and ambitious European clubs remain in the hunt for the highly-rated shot-stopper.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Chippa United faces a crucial decision: cash in on their star goalkeeper or hold onto him for another season. One thing is certain—Nwabali’s future will be a major talking point in the coming months.
