End of the road for Amakhosi? SuperSport to beat Kaizer Chiefs 2-1, Khanye predicts

Ex-Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has made his prediction ahead of Saturday’s Carling Knockout match between Amakhosi and SuperSport United.

The 39-year-old former footballer expects his former team to crash out of the tournament on Saturday evening. Amakhosi play their first cup match of the season at the Peter Mokaba Stadium against Matsatsantsa.

The Soweto giants have brought in a new coach Nasreddine Nabi who has immediately made an impact. His big task will be to inspire his Kaizer Chiefs players to get past Gavin Hunt’s SuperSport.

Khanye has praised Nabi’s impact but feels the team is not ready to compete for top honours.

Kaizer Chiefs are a much better team compared to last season especially how they started(this season),” he said. “The question is will there be consistency? Another question is are they a one-man team? Sirino has played a huge role at Kaizer Chiefs. Very influential on the left-hand side and making the right decisions.”

Khanye predicts Chiefs to fall against SuperSport

“To be honest, I’m not sure about this team,” the former winger said when asked about Amakhosi’s chances. Their goalkeeper(Fiacre Ntwari) is suspect. SuperSport a good when it comes to set pieces so they will cause problems for the Chiefs defence.”

Speaking on iDiski TV, Khanye predicted Chiefs to lose SuperSport after extra time.

The game will end 1-1 after 90 minutes but SuperSport will score in extra-time. Both teams are not convincing but Gavin Hunt’s team is the fittest. I believe SuperSport will win 2-1 and go through,” he said.
