The PSL is poised to return following a fortnight of international soccer.

Bafana Bafana dramatically increased their chances of World Cup qualification, overcoming Lesotho and Benin to extend their lead at the top of group C. PSL youngster Jayden Adams found the net on both occasions.

Rumours around the league

  • Former Kaizer Chiefs target Elias Mokwana has expressed his desire to play for the Soweto giants, labelling it as his ‘dream’. However, a move in the offseason looks unlikely.
  • Oswin Appollis is expected to have an array of teams after his services this winter, but whether he will leave is another question—Polokwane stands firm on keeping its best players to make a title-challenging team.
  • Bafana coach Hugo Broos believes this will be Relebohile Mofokeng’s last season in the PSL amid foreign interest. Egyptian giants Zamalek FC had a R25.8 million bid rejected months ago.
  • Monnapule Saleng’s future at Orlando Pirates remains ominous, prompting speculation of an offseason move.

Lepasa’s days are limited

PSL veteran Zakhele Lepasa is reportedly on the brink of free agency as Orlando Pirates prepare to offload several players.

“So far, the four players are on the list and are expected to leave at the end of the season,” a source revealed.

“What I can tell you for now, apparently, is that it’s believed these four players could be the ones to leave. The club is working with all the involved parties to look at the way forward so that they can reach an amicable solution where it is needed.”
