The family of award-winning comedian, actor, and writer Ebenhaezer Dibakwane, confirmed his cause of death on Tuesday, 11 March.
EBENHAEZER DIBAKWANE: ‘I JUST LOST MY RELIGION’
The MisEducation actor Ebenhaezer Dibakwane, who shared in past interviews that he was battling depression ended his own life, according to the family’s statement.
“The past few days have been excruciating for us, as we battle to deal with his loss. Preliminary evidence suggests that Ebby died by suicide, which we expect will be confirmed by the post-mortem examination,” said the family.
This comes after the comedian shared on Almost Perfect Podcast that the path to his success had been rather dark and also shared how losing his faith led him down a nihilistic road that saw him living on the streets.
“I just lost my religion. I was an evangelist, and everything crumbled down. I literally mastered the beauty for the first time at 19. I was heartbroken and went the complete, opposite way.”
Dibakwane also shared that he was drinking excessively and dopped out of school [university].
He also added in an interview that he was a very sad and depressed person who was acting happy.
His funeral is scheduled for Friday, 14 March, at 7am in Mbombela, Nelspruit, at Church Unlimited.
