Eben Etzebeth welcomes Siya Kolisi

After more than a year away from his home at the Sharks, Eben Etzebeth has welcomed his bestie, Siya Kolisi, back. He’s also thrown massive shade at the Springboks’ former French club, Racing 92.

Siya swapped Durban for Paris last year after signing a three-year deal with the overseas team. However, a “mutual agreement” saw both part ways much earlier than expected.

The news came amid backlash from the French club owner Jacky Lorenzetti, who claimed Siya had “gained weight” and was “transparent” during the season.

EBEN ETZEBETH WELCOMES SIYA KOLISI BACK

In an Instagram post, Eben Etzebeth revealed he was thrilled to have his best friend, Siya Kolisi, back at the Sharks.

The duo are known for their banter and bromance as rugby players and colleagues.

Posting a pic of him with the Springbok captain, Eben jokingly shared: “Looking forward to be back at the @sharksrugby tomorrow. I heard we made a new signing, I hope me and the new guy get along nicely.

Undoubtedly throwing shade at Racing 92, he added: “Apparently he loves Racing…Cars”

Siya Kolisi – who liked the post – shared his own Instagram post about “going home.”

Eben jumped in the comments section, posting: “Did we just become best friends?”.

LOVE FROM THE BOKS

In a statement issued last month, the Sharks revealed that the Springbok captain would return to his home upon completion of his national team duties.

The news came just months after Racing 92 boss Jacky Lorenzetti described Siya Kolisi as “out of shape” and “transparent” this season.

He said in a media conference: “He gained weight, lost shape and yesterday [against Bordeaux] he was transparent.

Just a few days later, Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus seemingly clapped back at Lorenzetti’s harsh remarks, stating: “Siya will be captain, he will be six flank, and Siya has no injury. Siya is not fat, and Siya is not transparent.”
