Durban’s finest are back, and the drama is hotter than a Durban curry. The Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD) Season 5 is about to drop on 28 March 2025, exclusively on Showmax.

RHOD S5

Judging by the trailer, we’re in for a wild ride. South Africa serves as the backdrop for much of the series, adding an extra layer of glamour to the already extravagant lifestyles.

Get ready to see some familiar faces on RHOD S5 as OG Housewives Nonku Williams and Sorisha Naidoo, the longest-serving Housewives in the African franchise, return to stir the pot.

Jojo Robinson, a Season 2 veteran, also returns with fan favourite Angel Ndlela from Season 4 completing the returning cast, according to Showmax Stories.

BRAND NEW HOUSEWIVES

Three brand-new Housewives are also joining the mix. Their arrival promises fresh perspectives and, of course, plenty of drama.

Showmax is keeping their identities under wraps for now, but the wait will be worth it.

THE SPICY TAGLINES

Showmax has also dropped the RHOD S5 taglines, and they’re pure gold. Here’s a taste of what the Housewives are bringing to the table:

  • Angel Ndlela: “Word on the street is that I am young, single and I stand on business. Come for me and I will read you like a thesis.”
  • Ayanda Mthembu: “Living my dreams one fit at a time! Fashion is my game and the world is my runway.”
  • Jojo Robinson: “A masterpiece takes time. I am evolving with every chapter because why settle for a blank canvas?”
  • Kwanele Kubheka: “Marriage, motherhood and mileage: I am the ultimate frequent flyer.”
  • Lo Sithole: “The Lord is my shepherd and my family is my rock. I may be lowkey but my bite is worse than my bark.”
  • Nonku Williams: “I have been through the fire and now I am the flame – Nonku Williams, the conqueror.”
  • Sorisha Naidoo: “It takes hard work to bring home the Birkin.”

Sorisha’s tagline hints at the kind of luxury we can expect from RHOD S5. These women aren’t just living the high life; they’re working for it, according to East Coast Radio.

THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF DURBAN

The Real Housewives of Durban is a smash hit for a reason.

It was one of the top 10 most-streamed shows on Showmax in 2024, and people can’t get enough of the glamour, the drama, and the unapologetic personalities, according to IOL.

POPULARITY OVERSEAS

The show has even gone international, airing on Bravo in the US and Hayu in multiple countries.

“I think that we all need to learn to embrace change,” says Nonku Williams about the upcoming season. “Viewers need to expect the unexpected.”

“People love to see the South African culture, and how rich it is,” says Sorisha Naidoo. “The international viewers are always commenting on the beauty of the country shown on RHOD S5.”

So, set your reminders, gather your friends, and prepare for the return of The Real Housewives of Durban on 28 March.

It is going to be a season of high fashion, high drama, and high stakes, all set against the stunning backdrop of Durban.
