Dolly rejected AmaZulu after leaving Kaizer Chiefs

Former AmaZulu coach Pablo Franco Martin has revealed how Keagan Dolly was offered to the club after leaving Kaizer Chiefs.

Dolly parted ways with Chiefs at the end of last season after a difficult campaign with injuries and a lack of game time.

He was then linked with a possible move to Supersport United but that proposed deal collapsed.

The veteran winger would later ask to train with Matsatsantsa in an attempt to keep fit while waiting for possible suitors.

TS Galaxy then gave him a career lifeline which happened immediately after the departure of Sead Ramovic.

Now, Martin has told FARPost that Dolly was offered to AmaZulu during pre-season but his technical team at the time wanted to assess him first.

This was due to doubts cast over his fitness in order to protect the interests of AmaZulu before committing to sign him.

However, Dolly, who made 67 appearances across all competitions, scored 14 goals and registered 11 assists for Chiefs, never went to AmaZulu.

“He was offered to us this pre-season, as you know,” said Martin.

“We all know about his quality, but we had doubts about his fitness level after the long-term injury and not getting too much game time last season.

“We offered him to come and train with us as he was doing with some other teams so we could see his real state, protecting the interests of the club, but he never came,” added Martin.
