‘GOD FETCHED ANOTHER ONE’: DJ EUPHONIK’S X POST SHOCKS SA
His big wins often thrust him into the top trends whenever he posts or gets posted. DJ Euphonik is trending after he seemingly celebrated the death of a seasoned journalist in an X post.
In the wake of former Sunday Sun editor Prince Chauke’s passing, it appears not everyone was saddened by the news.
The former media personality reportedly collapsed in his flat after a short illness on 11 January.
However, news of his untimely death was recently confirmed, and a host of celebrities and fans flooded online with their tributes.
However, it seems as if DJ Euphonik was singing from a different hymnal than the rest. Reacting to the news, DJ Euphonik posted, “God fetched another one, @DJFreshSA.”
He tagged DJ Fresh on his X post. Fans were no doubt quick to swipe at DJ Euphonik as they tried to connect the dots about their fallout.
Rumour mill is more than convinced that Chauke was one of the senior journalists who reported heavily about DJ Fresh and Euphonik’s alleged rape allegations.
The two were once embroiled in a string of abuse allegations, which saw them losing their jobs and endorsements.
However, the two were later acquitted of the charges, but their reputation had already suffered the most at the time.
WHY THE RADIO PERSONALITY WAS FIRED
TshisaLIVE revealed in 2021 that DJ Fresh and Euphonik, known as Themba Nkosi, were pulled off air following allegations of sexual assault.
The DJs trended on social media after a woman alleged that she had been assaulted by both men on the same night.
Acting Chief Executive Officer of Primedia Broadcasting Geraint Crwys-Williams said the company and DJs had reached a “mutual decision for both DJs to come off air in order to focus on addressing this matter”.
The two later parted ways with the station.
However, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) eventually dropped the charges against the two DJs, marking the case as ‘Nolle Prosequi’, which means “no longer prosecute”.
