In a tragic incident at Chris Hani Mall in Vosloorus, a deputy principal from Rivoni Secondary School in Daveyton was fatally shot while attending a meeting.
The meeting was related to a case involving a colleague. The motivation behind this senseless act remains unclear.

The Gauteng Education MEC, Matome Chiloane, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, stating, “We are heartbroken by this senseless killing of our dedicated educator and leader in our education community. Our deepest sympathies are with his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.” A police investigation is now underway.
Accident Involving Scholar Transport
In a separate incident, 42 pupils from Relebogile Secondary School in Carletonville were involved in a serious scholar transport accident. On Monday, six children sustained injuries, with two of them in serious condition.
MEC Chiloane remarked, “We are deeply concerned about the wellbeing of the affected learners, and we will ensure they receive the necessary medical care. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families during this challenging time, and we wish the learners a speedy recovery.”
This worrying event follows the heart-wrenching accident earlier this year, where 11 children lost their lives in a similar scholar transport incident.
