Orlando Pirates will play English side Bolton Wanderers on Friday morning in their first pre-season match.
The Buccaneers arrived in Spain to begin their preparations for the 2025/26 season. The first team touched down at Málaga International Airport on Tuesday before making the short journey to the coastal city of Marbella, where they will be based for the next two weeks.
The Buccaneers will play several friendly matches in the coming days. The club’s new head coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou, will use the 12-day camp to build cohesion, integrate new signings, and lay the groundwork for what promises to be another demanding campaign.
Orlando Pirates settle in Spain
The technical team has brought a 32-man squad to Spain. Most notable players that were seen this week are Oswin Appollis and Sipho Mbule, who joined the Sea Robbers earlier this month.
Who will Orlando Pirates play first?
The Sea Robbers will play Bolton Wanderers on 11 July 11 at Marbella Football Centre. Kick off is for 11:00 and the match will be televised on SuperSport 202.
After that, Pirates will face newly crowned Cypriot champions Pafos FC two days later.
The tour continues with fixtures against La Liga outfit Las Palmas on 17 July, before concluding with a test against Granada on 19 July. Last year, Orlando Pirates ended their pre-season tour unbeaten, which included a win against Sevilla.
