Online shopping conglomerate Takealot is offering local entrepreneurs an opportunity to integrate into the South African online retail ecosystem by providing franchise opportunities.
The scheme forms part of the Takealot Township Economy Initiative (TTEI).
TTEI aims to empower small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) in underserved communities.
The programme is being rolled out in key township regions across Gauteng, including Soshanguve, Mamelodi, Tembisa, Vosloorus, and Carletonville.
“We are excited to announce the launch of the recruitment of franchisees across various Gauteng townships,” said Frederik Zietsman, CEO of Takealot Group.
“We believe there is immense untapped potential in the townships and by opening more franchisees in the townships, we are ensuring the same efficiency and convenience in other parts of the country is delivered to the township-based consumer.”
