When it comes to cleaning supplies, it is worth noting that some items need to be replaced regularly. Regular cleaning of these tools means keeping your house more hygienic and fresh.

Dish towels

Dish towels are used frequently, but how often do you clean or replace them? They serve multiple purposes in the kitchen, including washing and drying various items. Over time, dish towels can become worn out and start to unravel. It’s important to be attentive to their condition; you don’t have to wait until they are torn to replace them.

Mops

When it comes to your mop, it’s crucial to wash and disinfect it regularly. Mops play a significant role in cleaning your home, which means they can harbour a lot of germs. While disinfecting can help, sometimes mops need to be replaced entirely. Keep in mind that your mop won’t last forever. Microfiber mops, which are more hygienic than traditional string mops, can last about 5 to 6 months. Cleaning experts recommend replacing string mops every 3 to 4 months.

Brooms

Replacing a broom may seem foreign to some, but they, too, should be replaced more often. When the bristles wear down, they become less effective, and this causes them to not clean properly. You need to keep an eye out for bent bristles, which suggest your broom is ready to be replaced.

Toilet brushes

No one ever thinks of replacing their toilet brushes until they decide to move to a new place. This is not a good thing as old toilet brushes might be spreading more germs than actually cleaning them. Since it regularly comes in contact with bacteria, it can easily become contaminated. For a more hygienic approach, replace your toilet brush once every six months.

Vacuum filters

A good vacuum will last you years on end, but it’s essential to keep an eye on the filter. You may wash the filter every so often, but replacing it every 7/8 months is key because they trap dust and pet hair.

With the right cleaning tools, you can keep your home spotless and hygienic. Replace whatever needs to be replaced to maintain this.
