Chiefs target TWO North African forwards – from the same team!

Kaizer Chiefs look to mimic last offseason’s ten-player haul with a myriad of fresh talent.

Feisal Salum, Fawaaz Basadien, and Prince Dube are a few African stars shortlisted by the Soweto giants, but the most complex situation lies in North Africa.

According to reports, AmaKhosi are eyeing Pyramid’s pair Fagria Lakay and Fiston Mayele. However, there’s a twist; the latter remains their priority signing, while interest in the former Cape Town City striker appears to be a contingency.

“It could go down to choice and priority for both Chiefs and Pyramids. Which striker [Mayele or Lakay] could Pyramids let go and which one do they really want to keep? As for Chiefs, which player do they really want to sign over the other?,” SoccerLaduma revealed.

“So, it will also be about the pricing from Pyramids and what Chiefs can afford to pay for them to get the striker they desire for next season. That’s the decision they will have to make.”

Another SoccerLaduma source supported this assumption, saying, “At the moment there is not one striker who the club could say is the one joining them. Yes, they are priotising Fiston Mayele but they don’t want to be caught off guard if things don’t work out with him and that’s why they are reigniting the interest in [Fagrie] Lakay.

“You remember they have been interested in him for some time now? They are just waiting for that chance to sign him. And this could be the right time to do so for the club.”

Pirates coming in for the kill?

Kaizer Chiefs have longed for the services of Stellenbosch wingback Basadien, but will face competition from bitter rivals Orlando Pirates, who, based of this season alone, could be the more attractive destination.

“Chiefs interest was serious but there was no agreement reached between the two clubs and now it looks like Pirates are coming in strong for him,” The Citizen revealed.

“Don’t be surprised to see him join them when the season ends but you never know in football because things change very quickly, and other clubs might come knocking as well.”

Who else should Kaizer Chiefs be targeting?
