And they are confident they can keep that flame alive by beating Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Stadium in the Nedbank Cup semifinal.

Chiefs winger Potsane – ‘Significant step’

“We’re inspired by the nature of the competition,” Chiefs winger Tebogo Potsane told the club’s official website.

“We know that reaching the final would be a significant step towards achieving our goals, and we’re focused on giving it our all.

“We also want to be remembered as a generation that contributed to the trophy cabinet.”

Sundowns are the clear favourites to progress, Miguel Cardoso’s side still on course for an unprecedented treble of the Betway Premiership, the Caf Champions League and the Nedbank Cup.

Masandawana have also already beaten Chiefs on the three previous occasions they have faced off this season.

‘We’re confident’

“We’re feeling positive about our chances,” said midfielder Samkelo Zwane, however.

“We know it’s not going to be easy, but we’re confident that we can make it happen.”

“It’s crucial that we end the season with a strong performance.
