Miss Universe Nigeria Chidinma Adetshina sparks massive social media buzz following a recent TV interview.
The former Miss SA finalist was interviewed on a Nigerian TV show where she opened up about her journey in the Miss SA pageantry.
While speaking about the criticisms he suffered, Chidinma was asked about how she became a South African citizen.
In response, the Miss Universe 1st runner up stated that she was born in South Africa to Nigerian parents.
This revelation sparked rage in the hearts of Mzansi Twitter users, and some of her defenders as it was believed that her father is Nigerian, while her mother is Mozambique.
Adetshina trends on social media with a majority slamming her.
“Chidimma please you are history, accept that you not a South Africa. Your mom is no longer a Mozambican but a Nigerian — You keep changing your story. How did your parents end up in South Africa? You grew up in Soweto but can’t understand local or speak the languages,” a tweep wrote.
Another wrote, “Being a Chidimma defender on this app must be exhausting. I honestly don’t know why she keeps doing interviews about the South Africa issue, because each time she gets caught in a lie or a revelation that further makes the case for her citizenship being a fraud strong. She is saying both parents are Nigerians. Jiki Jiki Begs the question: Who’s Mozambican identity did the mother steal too?”
Our job with Chidimma is done as South Africans, whether her parents are Nigerians or Zimbabweans we do not care as long as she is not in SA. https://t.co/VsdBpAIiFf
