The City of Cape Town water and sanitation directorate will shut down water in parts of the municipality to conduct planned maintenance.

The first planned maintenance is scheduled from 9:00 – 20:00 on Sunday, 13 April.

CAPE TOWN AREAS FACING WATER SHUTDOWN

The City of Cape Town said planned maintenance work will result in water supply disruption to these areas:

Part of Durbanville – The metro municipality said water supply to a large part of Durbanville bounded by Wellington Road, Lubbe Street, Amadeus Street, and the R300 road reserve will be shut off temporarily from 9:00 until 20:00 on Sunday, 13 April to enable the urgent installation of a T-piece and three valves on the water supply main to the area.

Part of Ottery – The water supply to a part of Ottery will be shut off temporarily from 8:00 until 17:00 on Tuesday, 15 April. The City of Cape Town said this will enable the safe connection of the newly-installed water pipelines on the corners of Woodlands Road and Applemist Road, Harmony Way and Myrtle Road, and Trenance Road and Harmony Way to the existing water supply infrastructure.

Pinehurst – Lastly, the water supply to Pinehurst will be shut off temporarily from 09:00 until 17:00 on Wednesday, 16 April 2025, to enable the safe installation of a control valve on the water supply main for the area.

Residents have been urged to store enough water in advance, as a precautionary measure and it should be stored in clean, sealed containers.
