If you want to know if you can apply for more than one SASSA grant, the answer is: it depends on the type of grant. You cannot receive multiple personal grants, but there are some exceptions for caregiving grants.
Who Can Apply for More Than One SASSA Grant?
SASSA does not allow one person to apply for more than personal grant. For example, you cannot receive both an old age grant and a disability grant. You also cannot apply for the R350 SRD grant if you are already receiving another grant.
However, if you are the caregiver for more than one child, you can apply for multiple child support grants. In some cases, a caregiver may also qualify for one personal grant along with child-related grants.
What Happens If You Try to Apply for More Than One?
SASSA checks your information with other departments. If you apply for grants you do not qualify for, your application may be denied, or your existing grant could be put on hold. Always check your eligibility first by calling 0800 60 10 11 or visiting your local SASSA office.
