The star seemingly had some priceless moments with Themba Zwane, who is recovering after having an injury.

Photos of the two have flooded social media and gained thousands of comments and reactions since they dropped online. The two recently hung out together at a local joint.

Taking to Facebook, popular football blog Everything Football posted, “Bongani Zungu & The Injured Themba Zwane.”

Against the post, fans quickly flooded the blog’s comments section with their two cents.

Zungu was undoubtedly criticised for failing to do the same to Benard Parker after making a reckless tackle in 2023 that seemingly took a toll on his career.

According to reports, after a career-threatening incident during a Carling Knockout Cup match, the former Mamelodi Sundowns star only contacted Parker via social media.

FAILED MOVED

Bongani Zungu’s move to Morrocan giants Wydad failed despite having trained with the club for two weeks. ,However he has also been linked to Kaizer Chiefs.

CAREER

At 18, Bongani Zungu was already making headlines; the rest was history. Bongani Zungu started his youth career with Dynamos before making his senior debut with the University of Pretoria in 2012.

He joined Mamelodi Sundowns in 2013 and left in 2016 for Vitoria Guimaraes. From Vitoria Guimaraes, he joined Amiens in 2017 before leaving in 2022 for Rangers on loan.

In the same year, he returned to Mamelodi Sundowns for a second stint. His return made him one of PSL’s highest-paid stars.

However, his second dance with Masandawana was not as picture-perfect as many had hoped. Injuries affected Bongani Zungu’s performance, keeping him out of the game for months.

He left the club in 2024 and has yet to find a new one. Some fans have made it known that he still has two seasons on the card, while others have urged him to consider retiring.

MAKING HEADLINES

Last month, he trended after he showed off his herd of Ankole cattle. With a few years left on the cards for the midfield maestro, it seems Bongani Zungu is already planning his retirement.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns star now owns one of Africa’s most politically connected cattle breeds, the Ankole.
