BENNI MCCARTHY COMPARES PIRATES PRESSURE TO UNITED

In a recent interview with, McCarthy compared the pressure of Pirates to that of his former side, Manchester United.

“Definitely, because Kaizer Chiefs, and at Orlando Pirates, they are historical teams in our league, you know,” he stated on iDiskiTimes.

Meaning, he feels that Pirates, like United carry a lot of history. So, they are expected to win silverware given the huge fan base, financial support and the success of the club.

Moreover, this is similar to English Premier League outfit, United. This is because they have a huge following in England and all over the world. However, they have not won the EPL in over a decade.

BUCS STRIVING FOR BETWAY PREMIERSHIP TITLE

So far, so good. Pirates have won seven out of seven matches in the BetWay Premiership.

They currently sit top of the latest PSL standings. At the time of publication, the Bucs sit on 21 points, three clear of rivals Mamelodi Sundowns who have 18 points.

However, they have not faced Sundowns yet. Jose Riveiro and Pirates are desperate and hungry to win the title having last won the PSL back in the 2011/12 season. Therefore, this is their best chance since then. Furthermore, it is their best start since 1996.

IS BENNI MCCARTHY RIGHT ABOUT COMPARING THE PRESSURE AND SITUATION AT MANCHESTER UNITED WITH PIRATES? CAN THEY WIN THE 2024/25 BETWAY PREMIERSHIP?
