The PSL transfer plot thickens.
With January’s transfer window fast approaching, clubs have begun narrowing their shortlist, approaching players and scouting for uncovered gems – the first two acts are simple; some never find the last.
Transfer gossip
- Orlando Pirates are gunning for AmaKhosi’s top target, Asenele Velebayi; the Buccaneers are reportedly willing to offer Cape Town City R10 million plus players.
- Starboy Mohau Nkota is attracting interest from the Belgian side of Standard Liege. However, following his impressive CAF Champions League cameo, there are whispers that some of North Africa’s top clubs are monitoring the 20-year-old.
- Patrick Maswanganyi is apparently ready to return to Europe, prompting speculation that he could leave come the season’s end.
- Tanzanian international Feisel Salum is expected to sign a contract extension with Azam FC amid Kaizer Chiefs links.
More on the Maswanganyi situation
According to Maswanganyi’s Stars of Africa Academy mentor, Farouk Khan, the dynamic playmaker is eager to head to Europe, saying, “I can tell you now Tito is ready for Europe.
“Even himself as a player, he really wants to play there. You know if Pirates can allow him to go then it won’t benefit only Pirates from the sale but also the player himself and the country. He could have stayed longer in Portugal but he was impatient that time,” he told SNL24.
“You know many players from Brazil, Argentina, and most other African countries use Portugal as a springboard to bigger leagues in Europe and he could have been patient then things could have worked out for him that time. But nothing is lost. He can still go now and make it big. He is ready for Europe,” Khan concluded.
