Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly aimed at signing Michael Olunga but he might be out of Amakhosi’s financial bracket.

IAN OTIENO SUGGESTS MICHAEL OLUNGA IS EXPENSIVE

It’s been two years since Samir Nurkovic, and Kaizer Chiefs are still searching for a prolific striker at his level. Coach Nasreddine Nabi went as far as saying his current option Ranga Chivaviro is not a bad striker, the Tunisian coach wants a higher quality centre forward.

According to recent reports, Kenya’s Michael Olunga is the target. The 30-year-old currently plays in Qatar for Al-Duhail SC where he is on 11 goals in 10 matches, while he scored 22 goals in 26 games last season.

Meanwhile, the leading local outlet, FARPost, spoke to Olunga’s Kenyan teammate Otieno who plays his club football for Richards Bay FC. Otieno believes Kaizer Chiefs might not be able to meet the financial terms to sign Olunga.

“About Michael, he’s the captain of the national team; we speak a lot, actually,” Otieno told FARPost

“I heard of the rumours that he was supposed to come to Kaizer Chiefs, I don’t know.

“But I don’t know because the Arab money is something else, you know. You might never know what is happening back there.

“Yeah, but in future, if he’d like to come, I can invite him to come over because the PSL is such a good league,” Otieno concluded on the Kaizer Chiefs target.
