Another Bafana Bafana star linked with Spanish LaLiga club!
Bafana Bafana players look to be making waves not only on the continent but world wide at the moment.
After Bafana finished third at the 2023 Afcon, a lot of top performers seemed to catch the eye of European sides.
Bafana players in demand abroad
The likes of Teboho Mokoena, Khuliso Mudau and Evidence Makgopa just three that received prominent links. But it wasn’t just the players who were at Afcon that got the links as clubs started paying attention to South African football. That has now seemed to benefit the likes of Relebohile Mofokeng, Patrick Maswangwanyi, Tshegofatso Mabasa and Iqraam Rayners.
Now according to the latest reports, another name has been added to that list. That is Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bathusi Aubaas. According to Soccer-Laduma, Spanish LaLiga side Mallorca are interested.
“Now we believe that the team that is interested in Bathusi (Aubaas) is Mallorca from Spain. You remember we talked about a La Liga team being interested in him and now it’s possible that Mallorca could make a bid for him. Yes, it is still early stages but things are looking positive for him,” said one source.
The second source confirmed that Mallorca have been monitoring Aubaas for quite some time now.
“It’s not like it just happened from nowhere. These teams have scouts and recruiters who monitor and analyse the players they want and Bathusi (Aubaas) is one of those players they have recommended and approved to Mallorca. As it’s believed for now, it’s the interest from them and maybe the big offer will follow,” said the second source to the same publication.

All of this interest is testament to the continued success Sundowns have had. While they seemed reluctant to let Mokoena go, Mudau and Aubaas could be in last chance salon. The duo are both 29-years-old and realistically running out of time for a big move abroad.
