AMAPIANO STAR SABELO ZUMA CHEATS DEATH AFTER A FAILED HIT

A close source to the star confirmed the news to TimesLive.

“All we know is that he got shot in broad daylight, and we don’t know what was going on, but we are glad he’s still alive, nursing his bullet wound,” said a source.

Against the news celebrity blog, MDN News also confirmed the incident with an X post.

The blog posted, “Zuma, a member of the Amaroto group, is currently recovering in the hospital after surviving a gunshot wound when the minibus he was travelling in was targeted in a shooting incident.”

However, the amapiano star’s management has yet to confirm the reports. Several photos from the scene of the incident have been making rounds.

In one of the photos in the publication’s position, the alleged minibus can be seen with broken windows. However, little is known about whether it was a hit or not.

Efforts to get comments from the police during publication were unsuccessful. In one of the now-viral photos shared on X by MDN News, the star was seemingly at the hospital receiving some treatment.

What seems like a bullet wound can be seen on his arm just below his shoulder.

RECENT HITS OVER THE YEARS

Against the news, The South African has connected the dots on several celebrities who have been victims of failed hits.

In 2023, actress Tebogo Thobejane cheated death after her car was showered with bullets just after 21:00 in Morningside.

The incident happened when the star returned home from a dinner with her friends. Unlike Zuma, Thobejane did not sustain any injuries but was admitted for shock.

On the other hand, three years ago, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small also survived a hit after unknown gunmen attacked their travelling van.

The incident happened on 8 February 2021 as the two were leaving a concert in Vosloorus.

They were transported right away to Union Hospital in Alberton, where the intensive care unit was their battleground for survival, according to reports.

In 2022, DJ Sumbody died in a hail of bullets in Johannesburg after a suspected drive-by shooting. Years later, his case was classified as a ‘cold case’.
