In a TikTok, an emotional Amanda du Pont weighed into the rape of Cwecwe, whose case has made national and international headlines.

In the clip, the actress and media personality cried as she reflected on the tragic shared ordeal.

“They didnt believe us, but we believe you, Cwecwe. Many are standing up for you, baby, because the system failed us standing up for ourselves. No child deserves that.

“A system that keeps failing victims of gender-based violence and rape.”

She captioned the clip: “Triggered, broken, and hurting for CweCwe. She’s just a kid. If we as adults are carrying the trauma so heavy, what on earth is a child supposed to do?

LATEST IN CWECWE CASE: DNA SAMPLES RESULTS?

Meanwhile, Minister of Police Senzo Mchunu revealed that DNA results from the three persons of interest have all been taken.

Cwecwe’s rape reportedly occurred at an Eastern Cape school back in October 2024.

The parents of the girl believe that she was drugged during the ordeal after she confided that the alleged incident took place at school while she was waiting for school transport.

Since then, DNA samples of a school caretaker, the principal, and the transport driver were taken.

Mchunu said in a press briefing on Friday, 4 April: “DNA testing was done on the victim as per procedure, and the outcome was that no foreign DNA had been found. Three persons of interest have since emerged, and further DNA testing is underway,”

Mchunu also distanced the SAPS from a viral video in which a correctional officer commented on the Cwecwe’s DNA test results.
