Deputy President Paul Mashatile has informed the National Council of Provinces that all South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) beneficiaries have now been paid.
This announcement comes after a technical glitch at Postbank left around 600,000 grant beneficiaries without their funds last month.

“Government remains fully committed to the timely and seamless payment of social grants to all beneficiaries,” Mashatile assured the South African public. “We can assure you that the matter is receiving the necessary attention.”
Mashatile went on to explain that all the failed transactions have been reversed, and the affected beneficiaries have been refunded. He also expressed his apologies for the inconvenience caused by the payment delays.
