New university campus comes to Durbanville
Renowned private education group, STADIO, is set to reveal a new R32 million university campus in the Cape Town suburb of Durbanville this year.
As reported by Cape Town Etc, STADIO recently unveiled strong financial performance, indicating a 17% increase in profit and a remarkable 28% rise in headline earnings per share for the fiscal year ended 31 December 2024.
The translated to total student numbers surging to 50 039 by the second semester of 2024, marking an 8% increase and contributing to the need for property expansion in the form of a new university campus.
The new campus will reportedly not only enhance the institution’s physical presence but also provide an enriched learning environment for STADIO’s growing student body.
The new comprehensive facility will feature state of the art buildings and world class sports stadiums, and will also be the STADIO showroom in the Western Cape.
Upon its completion in 2025, the new campus will increase STADIO’s portfolio of physical campuses to seven, joining existing locations in Bellville, Musgrave, Randburg, Hatfield, and Waterfall.
Sandton to also get a new facility in 2026
In similar news, Private school group AdvTech is also in the process of developing a massive 9,000-capacity unversity facility in Sandton, which it plans to have ready by 2026.
According to BusinessTech, the group is aiming for its private tertiary education institutes to become official universities in South Africa.
AdvTech is the owner of Varsity College and the Crawford and TrinityHouse chain of private schools in South Africa.
