With the annual summer season officially on full blast South African celebrities have been making full use of the warm weather, by treating themselves to some much-deserved holiday getaways this festive season.

For many, this has been the ideal time to go beyond our country’s borders and explore all there is to see when it comes to our neighbouring countries and those abroad while ensuring that this is a festive season to remember.

Liesl and Dr Musa Mthombeni

When it comes to international travels, one thing is for sure, former Miss South Africa Liesl Laurie and her husband Dr Musa are no strangers to foreign land. While the couple spent large parts of 2024 exploring the world, 2025 was clearly not going to be any different.

The happy couple have spent the last few weeks exploring the beautiful streets of Hong Kong in China. Taking to their Instagram page, the pair took their followers along on their journey as they posed for pictures from the top of the city’s biggest Skyscrapers and later visited Disney Land.

Maps Maponyane

Another avid traveller who has been spending a considerable amount of time abroad is television presenter and model Maps Maponyane. After a recent trip to Dubai and a short stint in Cape Town, Maps is currently spending his time in the city of love – Paris.

Taking to Instagram he shared a picture of himself with a caption which read, “Think I’m going to need to work a bit harder in 2025 so that I can give away some great experiences or even bring you along for the ride.”

Anele Mdoda

After spending her Christmas and New Year’s Day at home in South Africa, it was time for Radio host and television presenter Anele Mdoda to kick off her corporate shoes and immerse herself in the great outdoors.

The proud mother of one decided to book herself and her family a holiday in Zambia and Zimbabwe. Taking to social media she shared several reels and pictures showcasing the activities she has been involved in, from going on sunset cruises to helicopter flights as well as visiting the Victoria Falls.

With this just marking the first week of 2025, one can only expect greater things to come in this year for our most loved celebrities.
