A Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns match is much more attractive than we estimated.
KAIZER CHIEFS VS MAMELODI SUNDOWNS AUDIENCE
The date was 28 September on a Saturday at the FNB Stadium. Ranga Chivaviro opened the scoring for Amakhosi before Sundowns responded with two goals by Iqraam Rayners and Lucas Ribeiro.
According to Bizcommunity, the match was a delight for the relevant sponsors. No less than 3.26 million watched the match on SABC 1 and SuperSport 202.
Kaizer Chiefs’ kit sponsor enjoyed R1.9 million in advertising value, Vodacom enjoyed R1.6 million, while Absa, Toyota and SuperSport earned R1.5 million worth of brand exposure each.
Meanwhile, the two teams have another battle this coming weekend. The mighty Sundowns will again visit Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium for the Carling Knockout quarter-finals. Kick-off will be at 18:00.
KAIZER CHIEFS STAR MIGUEL INACIO SUSPENDED
Kaizer Chiefs have travelled to Polokwane for the third consecutive match. Magesi FC are expecting Amakhosi at the Peter Mokaba at 19:30 tonight.
Coach Nasreddine Nabi will be forced to make at least one change.
As confirmed by the Premier Soccer League via email to TheSouthAfrican, the 28-year-old Angolan central defender Inacio Miguel will be suspended when Kaizer Chiefs face Magesi at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday at 19:30.
Miguel, who is one of coach Nasreddine Nabi’s captains, received his fourth yellow during last weekend’s 1-0 loss to SuperSport United.
Kaizer Chiefs supporters can expect to see Given Msimango as the replacement in central defence.
Or will Nabi make a surprise decision with a player like Zitha Kwinika or Thatayaone Dithlokwe? We doubt it.
WHO SHOULD PARTNER RUSHWIN DORTELY IN CENTRAL DEFENCE?
